I am a Certified Senior Advisor and often meet with families that have been touched by dementia. I see the pressure that is put on the family members and their caregivers. My own mother had dementia many years ago, and I know first hand how music helped me to communicate with her and bring her joy. My brothers and sisters would play old Dean Martin, Perry Como, and Bing Crosby cassette tapes for her; sometimes she would try to sing along...for a few moments things seemed normal. Stories Love Music has an innovative training program using creative ways of engagement, including music to help dementia caregivers and their loved ones.
