What is a Fundraiser?

A Fundraiser is a way for community members and/or organization advocates to show support for the causes they care about and help secure donations for organizations participating in The Shore Gives More.


Passionate about a particular organization? Consider creating a fundraising page, setting a fundraising goal, and encouraging your network of family, friends, and colleagues to support this organization by sharing your Fundraiser's URL via email and social media!

How to create a Fundraiser:

Step 1: Choose an organization to support

Find your favorite nonprofit using the website's search function. From the nonprofit's page, click the "Create a Fundraiser" button.


If you cannot find your favorite nonprofit, they have not registered to participate in Shore Gives More. Check back at a later date or contact the nonprofit to confirm participation.

Step 2: Log In or Sign Up

Don't have an account? Click "Sign Up" and create your account. Once your account is set, your Fundraiser is automatically published.

Step 3: Personalize your Fundraiser

  • Use the editing tool to walk through the New Fundraiser creation steps 
  • Customize your Fundraiser: Title, Creator Name, URL, Goal, and Hero Image 
  • Tell us your Fundraiser story!
  • On the final step click ‘Publish’

Step 4: Share your Fundraiser to help your cause!

Fundraisers are only successful when they're shared! Copy your Fundraiser's unique URL to share with family, friends, and other contacts in email and posts to social media.

Fundraiser FAQs:

  • When can I create a Fundraiser?

    You can create a Fundraisers as soon as your nonprofit has registered for Shore Gives More! The deadline to create a Fundraiser Page is November 22nd. Find your favorite nonprofit using the website's search function.

  • When can people begin giving to my Fundraiser?

    People can give to your Fundraiser once early giving begins on November 25th.

  • Will I be notified when someone makes a donation to my Fundraiser?

    Yes! You will recieve an email that tells you when a donation is made to your Fundraiser and the donor's information unless they have chosen to give anonymously.

  • Can I create more than one Fundraiser?

    Yes, but we recommend you choose one or two nonprofits to focus your efforts on.

  • How will the donations I raise through my Fundraiser get to the nonprofit?

    The Community Foundation will collect all funds raised from Shore Gives More and distribute them to participating nonprofits after the event.
