The Smith island Cultural Center is a masterpiece of storytelling and cultural history, but unfortunately the museum itself is stuck in the past its trying so hard to preserve! This museum would be extremely benefited by the addition of a touch-screen informational kiosk, multiple digital slideshow picture frames, and an interactive software for designing educational videos. Think of how many visitors could learn more about the island through videos designed to answer some of the most common questions our workers receive such as how we get our groceries, where our electricity comes from, how big can a blue crab get, and more!

The Crisfield and Smith Island Cultural Alliance, Inc. and the Smith Island Center develops and provides educational programs, historical collections and interpretive exhibits that help visitors and the general public understand the past and present way of life of Smith Island. The Alliance also supports research and preservation programs related to its mission.
