Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore

About this Organization

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore (BBBSES) provides vital, life-changing programs, enrichment, and resources to children and families facing adversity. Each and every day, mentors help support and create positive changes for youth in your community. Each mentored child has an amazing story of support in planning and meeting goals while improving confidence, competence, and caring. Each journey starts with local families who meet with caring, professional Program Specialists who assess the needs of each child. Program staff develop a customized Youth Outcome Development Plan to positively improve academics, relationships with adults, mental and physical health and wellness, and decision making. Each development plan is designed to improve individual outcomes and consistently evolves to meet the growing goals and needs of children and families served. From Sarah who enjoyed her first professional baseball game for the Big Brothers Big Sisters day at the yard, Dillon who learned how to ride a bike for the first time, or Joey who achieved honor role for the first time, the agency loves to see the joy of every child achieving a new skill or enjoying a new experience. The agency provides life-changing mentoring to children age 6 to 18, meaningful enrichment, and vital resources such as hygiene items and school supplies to children and families facing adversity. The organization is unique in providing more programs and services to meet the growing needs of the community. BBBSES has successfully assisted children served as 99% improved self-confidence, 99% improved their ability to express feelings, 93% improved sense of future, and 99% improved decision making. Last year, the agency served 1,106 children and provided 8,409 resources. With support from the community and donors like you, many more children will be supported and inspired to achieve their goals.
