Chesapeake Health Care (CHC), established as a Community Health Center in 1994, is the second-largest Community Health Center in the State of Maryland. CHC is the largest safety net provider in Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties in the rural area on Maryland's Eastern Shore. We receive an annual federal grant of $2.59 million, which is only 5% of our annual budget. We are committed to helping medically underserved patients in the tri-county area.
We currently provide health care to more than 50,000 people, which is 28% of the population on the Lower Eastern Shore. Donations raised this year will support Chesapeake Health Care's Summer Mental Health Therapeutic Program for Children.
