Our program is the only organization in our region with professional level voice training for youth with opportunities to perform in and outside the Eastern Shore region. Not only does the choir impact the lives and development of youth but it also enhances the cultural environment of our rural area. By keeping membership and admission fees at a minimum, we have assured that the majority of families in our community have access to high quality performances by local artists. Goal setting and program development is a year round process by the Board of Directors and the Artistic Director, Alice Wigfield. The following goals and objectives have been set for our Choir: · Regardless of modality, students will internalize the learning of music as joyful, interesting, and fun. · Students will expand their knowledge and understanding of sight reading, music theory, and ear training in all areas of musical experiences. · Students will gain strength in use of interpersonal skills as they interact with other children and adults throughout the season to include making new friends, working collaboratively with peers and adults, and reaching conclusions when making group decisions.
