Tri Community Mediation, Inc.

About this Organization

Tri Community Mediation provides free mediation and facilitation services for community members, businesses, and other organizations within the community. Guided by the 10 Points of Community Mediation, we strive to ensure accessibility, engagement, diversity, and collaboration through the services we provide. We invite referrals for our services from individuals, families, court, police, schools, and other organizations in the community. Our role is to support people having tough conversations by offering opportunities for collaborative dialogue. In addition to providing mediation in our community, we do this by also training and supporting community members to serve as Volunteer Mediators. We strive to reflect, respond, and represent the needs of our community by being a program of the community, by the community and for the community. We have continued to serve the community throughout, the pandemic by offering online mediation along with the other services we provide and have hosted both local and statewide Basic Mediation Trainings to prepare volunteer mediators for service in community mediation centers across the state. In addition to continuing our mediation services, we have served as lead facilitator for the Lower Shore Vulnerable Populations Task Force, which was formed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Task Force is a partnership of over 40 organizations, service providers, and businesses working together to break down barriers by supporting equal access to everyone regardless of their background. It has been vital in providing services to combat food insecurity and vaccine hesitancy. This has been done by sharing credible, up-to-date information regarding vaccines, health services, and the pandemic as a whole. Our efforts have led to over one thousand vaccinations in the Lower Shore area, as well as distribution of hundreds of tons of food to the community.
