What began over 60 years ago as an effort by local artists to display their work has evolved into a far-reaching mission: using the arts as a means toward building bridges between generations and across divides, creating an atmosphere of beauty and culture in public spaces, providing opportunities for personal development and self-expression, and showcasing the work of talented amateur and professional artists in our region. For the last 10+ years at the Ocean City Center for the Arts, our reach extends far beyond Ocean City to Worcester and Wicomico Counties in Maryland and Sussex County in Delaware. We are proud of our outreach to youth and to underserved communities and people in need. Working in concert with other nonprofits and government agencies, we make our region a better place to live, work, and play, and contribute significantly to the standing and prestige of the Lower Eastern Shore. We stand in awe of the Art League members, artists, and supporters. Our volunteers and staff - always so generous with their time and talents - helped build our beautiful Arts Center into what it is today. We are grateful for our Corporate partners and benefactors as well, agencies like the Maryland State and Worcester County Arts Councils, the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, and a supportive Ocean City mayor and town council, all of whom understand the importance of the arts for the well-being and development of our community.
