TThe Raymond A. Wood Foundation was founded in 2017 in Ocean City, Maryland, in honor of Alex Wood, a local resident whose battle with a craniopharyngioma brain tumor inspired a mission to support others facing similar challenges. While our roots are firmly planted in the Eastern Shore community, our reach extends far beyond, empowering survivors and caregivers of hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumors worldwide. What began as a local family's journey has grown into a global effort to improve the quality of life for survivors of rare brain tumors. We proudly represent a beacon of hope for families navigating these complex conditions, combining the power of our local community with a worldwide network of support and advocacy. At the Raymond A. Wood Foundation, we believe that survivors and their caregivers are their own best advocates.
