The Somerset County Historical Trust is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Somerset's past by stewarding historic properties, providing information and resources, and promoting our tangible wealth of history on the Eastern Shore. We are currently focused on restoring the Teackle Mansion South Gatehouse located at 30467 Prince William Street in Princess Anne. The Trust purchased the circa 1803 house from its 18th owner in 2024. It lay abandoned and hidden behind a tangle of vines, roots and trees. In keeping with our mission, our goal is to restore the house and ,use it as the Trust's headquarters. We believe this not only a contributes to the streetscape of Princess Anne, but is also an important effort to preserve and protect a piece of the town's history.
